CBL encourages doing business via debit cards to solve cash crisis
The Central Bank of Libya’s Governor, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabeer, encouraged businessmen to use ATM debit cards in all their transactions as they are more safe and have guaranteed payment, which will pave the way for solving the cash crisis that has been troubling Libya for months.
In a meeting with the marketing officials, the CBL Governor stressed that the businessmen in Libya must be assured that the transactions that get done via selling points are fully guaranteed and will certainly be paid by the commercial banks, saying that any local debit card issued by any bank in Libya can be used in all selling points.
The selling points service is done by local debit cards issued by commercial banks, and it is a step forward to establish new trust between bankers and clients on the electronic platform.
