Bin Shetwan: Libya Lost to ‘Scum,’ Unity the Only Path Forward

Libya Needs Civilisational Renewal

Dr Fathi Bin Shetwan

In a scathing lecture reported by Ean Libya, Dr Fathi Bin Shetwan, head of the Renaissance Civilisational Project and presidential candidate, painted a bleak picture of Libya’s current state.

He lamented the loss of national unity, pride and dignity, stating that Libyans have become “a toy in the hands of scum”.

Shetwan decried the current state of affairs, where “hatred, exploitation and disintegration have replaced respect, love, mercy, social justice and national unity”. He highlighted the nation’s numerous crises, including a “sterile conflict”, a “failed state”, “economic and social backwardness” and the unchecked power of “weapons and money”.

His solution? National unity and a comprehensive overhaul guided by the six pillars of the Libyan civilisational renaissance project. These include addressing the failed state and foreign hegemony, tackling economic and social backwardness, establishing constitutional legitimacy, combating exploitation and corruption, and promoting civilisational renewal while preserving Libyan identity.

Shetwan’s lecture, delivered with passionate intensity, served as a stark reminder of the challenges facing Libya and a call for urgent action to reclaim the nation’s future, according to Ean Libya.
