Benghazi’s Benina Airport could shut down over fragile security
Benina Airport in Benghazi,e eastern Libya, has been undergoing bad security situations and there had been bad performances by the apparatuses tasked to secure the facility, Libyan News has been informed.
Sources told Libyan News that if the lack of security in the airport persists and if the bad behaviour and misconduct of security personnel continue amid the arrivals and departures, the administration of the airport will shut it down until a further notice and until it could be secured.
Benina airport was reopened this year after over three years of shut down over the ongoing war in Benghazi between Operation Dignity of Khalifa Haftar and the city’s revolutionaries and Shura Council fighters.
