Asswehly reluctant to meet Kahraba’s transfer terms
Officials at Libya’s Asswehly SC have expressed reservations about the financial demands made by Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim “Kahraba”, the Egyptian Al-Ahly striker, during ongoing negotiations for a potential January transfer window move.
The Libyan outfit has been in talks with Ahmed Yahya, Kahraba’s agent, regarding a possible loan deal until the end of the current season, with an option to make the move permanent.
Asswehly tabled an offer of $350,000 (£275,000) for the six-month loan period to the player, whilst proposing a £315,000 fee to Al-Ahly. However, both the player and his representative have deemed the financial package insufficient.
Sources close to the negotiations reveal that Kahraba’s camp has requested time until mid-January to consider their options. The player’s agent has reportedly demanded a total package worth $1 million (£787,000), to be split equally between the player and Al-Ahly.
Al-Suwaihli officials have countered with a revised offer of $800,000 (£630,000) as their final proposal for the winter transfer window deal.
Meanwhile, Al-Ahly’s Swiss manager Marcel Koller is understood to be open to Kahraba’s departure, following several controversies involving the player.
These include a recent incident during the CAF Champions League match against Algeria’s JS Belouizdad at the Cairo International Stadium.
