Al-Lafi, German Ambassador discusses the completion of the constitution
The Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, discussed with the German ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, on Tuesday, ways to complete the constitutional track between the House of Representatives and the High Council of State, and to go to elections for which the Libyan people aspire, in addition to providing the needed assistance for the success of elections and the acceptance of their results by all parties.
The media office of the Presidential Council indicated that during the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the political situation in Libya in addition to local and international efforts to resolve the political crisis in the country, and to provide full support to the new UN envoy to Libya.
Al-Lafi hailed Germany’s role and efforts to help Libya out of the crisis, stressing the importance of consensus among all parties to the political process on a constitutional basis to achieve the hopes of all Libyans in holding elections.
The German ambassador to Libya applauded the coordination of the Presidential Council with all political parties, the consolidation of the ceasefire, the success of the national reconciliation project and its continuous cooperation with the international efforts and countries supporting the stability of Libya, in order to find a solution to the current political crisis.
