Al-Koni insisted on continuing the work of unification of the military institution
On Thursday, Vice-Presidents of the Presidential Council (PC), Musa Al-Koni and Abdullah Al-Lafi met with the UK’s Chief Defence Advisor, Martin Sampson.
The meeting, attended by the Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Al-Haddad and the British ambassador to Libya, Caroline Horndal, looked at the military situation in the country and the role of security institutions in the imposition of stability.
The UK’s Chief Defence Advisor, Martin Sampson expressed the United Kingdom’s support for efforts aimed at unifying the military institution, establishing security and stability throughout Libya, which would open the door to the elections that the Libyan people want.
Musa Al-Koni emphasised the continuation of work to unify the military institution through the Joint Military Commission (JMC) 5 + 5 to impose security on the whole of Libya, collect weapons and create an appropriate environment for the exercise of electoral rights and the completion of transitional stages.
