Al-Haddad in Moscow on an official visit

Lieutenant General Muhammad Al-Haddad, Chief of General Staff arrived in the Russian Capital on an official visit to meet with Russian officials and discuss recent developments

Lieutenant General Muhammad Al-Haddad, Chief of General Staff, and his accompanying delegation arrived in Moscow for an official visit.

According to the Information Centre, Al-Haddad and his delegation were invited by Gerasimov Valery, Chief of Staff of the Russian Army and First Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia.

Similarly, Haftar Forces’ Lieutenant General Khairy Tamimi, Director of Khalifa Haftar’s Office and member of the Joint Military Commission 5 + 5, termed the visit and negotiations in Moscow, Russia, a success.

“The Moscow meetings were fruitful,” said Lieutenant-General Tamimi, noting that the Russian side had confirmed its “support for the stabilization of Libya and the need to evacuate foreign forces and mercenaries and dismantle armed groups, in accordance with the Geneva Ceasefire Convention and the Military Commission of 5 + 5 conclusions.”

Tamimi stated that Moscow has also stressed the need of having polls in time for the impending 24th of December.

Major General Khalid Al-Mahjoub, Director of the Haftar Forces Counselling Department, recently said that Haftar had sent a military delegation to Russia, led by the head of his office, without offering any details regarding the visit.
