Dabbashi urges UN to put Indian-flagged vessel Distya Ameya on the black list
The Libyan ambassador to the United Nations, Ibrahim Dabbashi, has urged the UN Security Council to put the Indian-flagged oil tanker, Distya Ameya, on the black list according to article (11) of UN Resolution (2145).
Dabbashi called on the UN to do so to express condemnation about the illegal shipment that the vessel was filled with from Tobruk-based Al-Hariga port backed by Al-Thinni government in eastern Libya.
On Monday, Distya Ameya left Tobruk with 650 thousand oil barrels heading toward Malta, however, Maltese port authorities said they barred the tanker and denied it the entry into Malta’s national waters.
