A Serbian engineer kidnapped in Libya, says Serbia’s Foreign Ministry
A Serbian engineer is said to be abducted in a very distant district in Libya near the Egyptian border, Serbia’s Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
Reuters reported that the Serbian national, Miroslav Tomic, is a maintenance engineer employed by a German company, and he was kidnapped on Saturday while traveling to inspect an oil field around 1,200 km (750 miles) from the capital Tripoli.
“We are waiting for more information about the details of the abduction,” Reuters reported a Serbian Foreign Ministry spokesperson as saying.
It is worth mentioning that last February, two Serbs, who were Serbian Embassy staffers in Libya, were killed among the ISIS militants raided by the US airstrike on Sabratha city.
