Tunisia’s President: We support military action against ISIS in Libya, but under the UN
The Tunisian President, Baji Caid Essebsi, said his country is with the foreign military intervention in Libya against ISIS if it comes under the umbrella of he United Nations.
He confirmed, in an interview with the Italian newspaper, La Stampa, that he looks forward to seeing Libya stable again, saying that ISIS threatens not only Libya, but also its neighbouring countries, including Tunisia.
Essebsi reiterated his support for the GNA, describing it as one of the fundamental pillars of Libya’s unity, referring to ISIS militias as non-Muslim and adding that they don’t represent Islam, that is why Tunisia is keen in fighting those terrorists, he concluded.
