Maltese Foreign Secretary: HoR’s cold feet regarding GNA endorsement could lead to Libya’s downfall
Malta’s Foreign Secretary, George Vella, has stated that the hesitation of the Tobruk-based House of Representatives in carrying out a vote of confidence for the Government of National Accord could place the economic and financial situations of the Libyan state at the risk of collapse.
The Times of Malta reported Vella as saying that the delay and hesitation of the HoR could increase chaos and security deterioration within Libya, which would pave the way for the spread of terrorism and extremism.
He urged the HoR to be in consensus regarding the current state of afairs in their country, which could lead Libya toward reconciliation and reconstruction.
Vella also called on the Speaker of the HoR and all other members to assume their responsibility and to act wisely in taking a decisive resolution for the benefit of Libya and the Libyans.
