Last two Libyan Guantanamo detainees set free, sent to Senegal
The last two Libyans held at the Guantanamo detention center in Cuba have been released and sent to Senegal, the United States of America announced.
Salem Abdul-Salam Ghreibi and Omar Khalif Mohamed Omar, were captured in Afghanistan back in 2002 for fighting with Al-Qaeda as the US declared.
Ghraiby was born in 1961 in Zliten. He had the nickname Abu Luqman Al-Hakeem, AKA (Al-Zintani). Omar Khalif, known as Abu Omar Al-Beidawi was born in 1962 in Al-Bayda.
It remains unclear whether or not the two inmates had already arrived in Senegal. A statement from the US State Department Monday clarified that they had left Guantanamo.
