From studio to cell: Tunisian rap star behind bars

A prominent Tunisian rapper was taken into custody on Wednesday following a court-ordered search and arrest operation in Tunis.
The Court of First Instance issued an imprisonment warrant on 29 January 2025, after the artist faced questioning over alleged drug use and trafficking charges.
Security forces executed a search warrant and apprehended the performer as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
Following his arrest, the rapper appeared before an investigating judge at the Tunis Court of First Instance for interrogation.
After reviewing the evidence and conducting the hearing, the judge ordered the rapper’s detention.
The authorities have not yet released details about the specific allegations or the length of the detention order.
