Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has called for the lifting of international sanctions against Syria, emphasising the urgent need for regional reconstruction and refugee repatriation.

Speaking after diplomatic meetings, Fidan outlined a comprehensive approach to Syria’s recovery. “The international community, especially regional countries, must get mobilised to help Syria get back on its feet so that millions of displaced persons could return to their homeland,” he stated.

The Turkish minister detailed several key areas requiring immediate attention:
– Investment in infrastructure
– Healthcare system development
– Educational services expansion
– Financial system restoration

Fidan stressed that lifting sanctions would be crucial for initiating reconstruction efforts and enabling the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland. He emphasised the importance of regional cooperation in achieving these objectives.

Turkey, which hosts approximately 3.5 million Syrian refugees, has maintained a significant interest in Syria’s stability and reconstruction.

The minister’s comments reflect Turkey’s broader regional policy objectives and its role in addressing the refugee situation.
