Tunisian swimmer finishes seventh in World Championship freestyle

Tunisian swimmer Ahmed El Jaouadi

Tunisian swimmer Ahmed El Jaouadi placed seventh in the 400m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships (25m pool) in Budapest today, clocking 3:39.32.

Australian Elijah Winnington claimed gold with a time of 3:35.89, while American swimmers Carson Foster and Kieran Smith shared silver, both finishing in 3:36.31.

The result follows El Jaouadi’s success earlier this week, when he won gold in the 1500m freestyle on Tuesday with a time of 14:16.40.

El Jaouadi will return to competition on Saturday for the 800m freestyle, alongside fellow Tunisian Rami Al-Rahmouni.

The championships continue in the Hungarian capital until 15 December.
