Western powers urge Syria conflict de-escalation

The United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom have issued a joint statement calling for de-escalation in Syria and protection of civilians and infrastructure.

The statement, released by the US State Department, emphasised the need for a Syrian-led political resolution to the conflict, aligned with UN Security Council Resolution 2254.
