Al-Waha Oil reports 11-year production high

The NOC is developing a three-to-five-year operational plan to increase production

Al-Waha Oil Company has achieved its highest crude oil production level in over a decade, the National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported on Wednesday.

The company recorded a daily output of 350,549 barrels, contributing to Libya’s total daily production of 1,380,470 barrels over the past 24 hours. Gas production reached 198,190 barrels, according to the NOC statement.

The NOC is developing a three-to-five-year operational plan to increase production, with a target of reaching 2 million barrels per day by the end of next year.

NOC Board Chairman Farhat Bengdara has been tasked with preparing this plan during a meeting with board members and department directors.

The corporation emphasised the need for a clear roadmap to achieve long-term objectives. This includes reviewing strategies of NOC-affiliated companies to ensure alignment with operational plans. Bengdara called for coordination between corporate strategies and operational planning to enhance integration.

These figures represent an upward trend in the country’s oil production, according to the NOC.
