Israeli military forces have moved into southern Lebanon, establishing checkpoints and blocking a major highway between Marjayoun and Nabatieh, Lebanese broadcaster Al Jadeed reports.

Several Israeli tanks have been observed moving towards the Litani River, following an airstrike that damaged the southern highway near the Khardali bridge. Israeli mechanised units have entered Deir Mimas, a predominantly Christian city, where they have established a checkpoint along the Marjayoun-Nabatieh route. Military engineers have constructed earthworks near Israeli positions along the Kfar Kila-Deir Siriane section.

The military situation in the eastern sector shifted after Israeli forces surrounded Al-Khiyam, described as a Hezbollah stronghold. According to the regional news outlet Janoubia, Hezbollah fighters have mounted significant resistance, reportedly striking four Israeli tanks with guided missiles on Thursday.

Israeli forces have strengthened their position in the eastern sector after securing the Tell Khamamis heights. Military vehicles were seen entering Ibl al-Saki, where several buildings allegedly linked to Hezbollah members were destroyed.

In the western sector, Israeli forces have taken control of al-Bayada hill, a position that overlooks both Tyre and the Nakuru highway.
