Libya, Tunisia seek to define border
Tunisia’s Defense Minister Khaled Sehili announced Tuesday that a joint committee with Libya has been established to address border demarcation between the two North African nations.
Speaking during a parliamentary session to discuss the defense ministry’s budget, Sehili emphasised Tunisia’s firm stance on territorial integrity.
“Tunisia will not relinquish a single inch of its territory,” he declared during the session, which was broadcast on Alhurra television.
The minister specifically addressed concerns regarding land use in areas adjacent to the border barrier between the two countries.
He revealed plans for an upcoming personal inspection of the border region to assess the situation firsthand.
“Border demarcation efforts are currently underway through a joint Tunisian-Libyan committee,” Sehili told lawmakers, highlighting the bilateral nature of the initiative.
