The Voice of the People Party accused several foreign ambassadors in Libya of overstepping their diplomatic authority on Wednesday, calling for formal protests against what it described as violations of international diplomatic protocols.

In a press release sent to Libyan Express, the party claimed some ambassadors organised unauthorised meetings that bypassed Libya’s foreign ministry. The party said these actions violated the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

The statement urged Libya’s foreign ministry to lodge formal protests against diplomats who allegedly exceeded their authority and called for increased monitoring of diplomatic activities.

Additionally, the party requested that the Government of National Unity enforce stricter adherence to diplomatic protocols among foreign representatives.

The statement did not name specific ambassadors or countries involved in the alleged infractions.
