Miraculous escape in Tripoli car crash

Six cars have been destroyed in a major crash in the Libyan capital.

The incident happened on Friday on University Road, near the Al-Farnaj Island landmark.

Tripoli Security Directorate said the collision occurred when a driver, travelling at high speed, lost control of their vehicle and veered into oncoming traffic. The car then collided with five other vehicles which were parked at the side of the road.

Pictures released by the authorities showed the extent of the damage to the vehicles involved.

Despite the severity of the crash, police confirmed there were no casualties. Deputy Officer Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, from the Souq Al-Jumaa Traffic Squad, said: “There were no human injuries as a result of the accident.”
