Airlines ground flights amidst escalating Middle East tensions

Carriers Suspend, Reroute Services Amidst Regional Instability

Rising concerns about a broader conflict in the Middle East are causing widespread disruptions to air travel, with multiple international carriers suspending or rerouting flights in the region.

The following airlines have made changes to their services:

  • Air Algerie: Suspended flights to and from Lebanon indefinitely.
  • AirBaltic: Resumed flights between Riga and Tel Aviv on September 17th.
  • Air France-KLM:
    • Air France: Resumed Tel Aviv flights but cancelled Beirut flights until at least September 24th.
    • KLM: Cancelled all Tel Aviv flights until October 26th.
    • Transavia: Cancelled flights to Tel Aviv until March 31st, 2025, and to Amman and Beirut until November 3rd.
  • Air India: Suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv indefinitely.
  • Cathay Pacific: Cancelled all Tel Aviv flights until March 27th, 2025.
  • Delta Air Lines: Paused flights between New York and Tel Aviv through December 31st.
  • EasyJet: Resuming flights to and from Tel Aviv on March 30th, 2025.
  • IAG:
    • Vueling: Cancelled flights to Tel Aviv until January 12th, 2025, and to Amman indefinitely.
  • LOT: Suspended flights to Lebanon indefinitely but continues to operate flights to Tel Aviv.
  • Lufthansa Group: Suspended all connections to and from Tel Aviv and Tehran until September 24th, and to Beirut until October 26th.
  • Ryanair: Cancelled flights to and from Tel Aviv until October 26th.
  • Sundair: Cancelled all flights between Bremen and Beirut until October 23rd.
  • SunExpress: Suspended flights to Beirut through December 17th.
  • United Airlines: Suspended flights to Tel Aviv indefinitely.

In addition, Britain has advised UK airlines to avoid Lebanese airspace until November 4th due to potential risks from military activity.

The situation remains fluid, and travelers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest updates on flight statuses.
