Germany support Libyan electoral paths
Deputy of the Presidential Council (PC) Head, Abdullah Al-Lafi, on Monday discussed with the German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, the political developments in Libya.
The meeting touched upon the PC’s efforts to resolve the political crisis and its endeavor to achieve an agreed-upon mechanism leading to long-awaited elections.
The German ambassador affirmed his country’s support for any path that would move the country towards parliamentary and presidential elections, praising the PC-led national reconciliation project and its endeavor to involve all parties in the political process.
For his part, Al-Lafi praised Germany’s role and its efforts in supporting the political process, stressing the need for a consensus on the constitutional basis to achieve the hopes of the Libyans presented in transparent elections that end all crises, according to a statement by the PC.
