Libya needs unity rather than violence, says the UK ambassador

The British ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndal

The British ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, expressed her gratitude in a tweet to the Prime Minister of the parallel government, Fathi Bashagha, for speaking with her and the Director of Middle East and North Africa Affairs at the British Foreign and Development Ministry Stephen Hickey.

The United Kingdom agreed on the need for dialogue that enables a return to unity in Libya and progress towards elections, Hurndall tweeted, adding that “a descent into more violence must be avoided by all”.
