Media defamation complaint filed against Mustafa Sanallah

Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid Debeiba, filed, Thursday, a complaint with the Attorney General against the dismissed Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah, accusing him of ‘insulting, defamation, and refusing to carry out orders.’

Debeiba said in the complaint that ‘Sanallah deliberately appeared in the media and made blatant and irresponsible statements against the Prime Minister and some other officials, refusing to implement the cabinet’s decision and hampered the work of the hand-over committee.’  He explained that these actions and behavior are criminalized, by the provisions of the Libyan Penal Code and its complementary laws.

Dabaiba accused Sanallah of deliberately inciting rebellion in his statements against the duties of public office.

‘Sanallah has exposed the Libyan State’s relationship with others in a malicious manner, which would harm the status of our state and its foreign relations, whether with countries or international organizations’ Debeiba added.

The sacked Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah, had also submitted an official complaint to the Attorney General, asking for taking the necessary measures regarding the storming of the NOC headquarters.
