Heavy clashes erupt in Tripoli, events are being investigated
Libyan authorities to probe clashes in Tripoli
GNU’s Interior Ministry on late Friday night said it would start to investigate the armed clashes between two of its security forces that broke out in the capital.
The ministry has been closely following Friday’s events “which led to heavy shootings” in central Tripoli between patrols of the Stability Support Apparatus and the Nawasi Brigade (8th Force), Libyan Express’ correspondent had reported.
Interior Minister Khalid Mazen instructed “competent authorities to follow up on the reports and start investigation on these events, stressing that all parties should work in accordance with the law,” Libyan Express’ correspondent said.
The Ministry revealed no details about casualties resulting from the clashes, saying that the current situation is stable and under control.
