Libya’s Presidential Council send letter to the Government of National Unity
Libya’s Presidential Council sent a letter to the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, “Abdul Hamid Al Dabaiba”. The letter stipulated Parliament Resolution No. (10) of 2021 to withdraw confidence from the government issued on October 20, 2021.
The Presidential Council said that the stability of the legal and administrative centers of institutions, embassies, organisations, consulates, public companies and other bodies, requires, in this current remaining stage, work to support them and not to prejudice their representatives except on the basis of justifications, and in accordance with a decision issued by the Presidential Council in accordance with the terms of reference entrusted to it, as of from the date of the parliament’s decision to withdraw confidence from the national unity government referred to above.
The Presidential Council is a body formed under the terms of the Libyan Political Agreement which was signed on 17 December 2015. The Council carries out the functions of head of state of Libya and is to take command of the Libyan Armed Forces.
