Financial controller jailed for not paying expenses for cancer treatment

On Wednesday, the Libyan Tripoli-based Public Prosecution ordered the imprisonment of a financial controller who refused to pay the medical expenses of cancer patient in Germany.

According to a statement by the Public Prosecution Office, a complaint was received from a female citizen, who spoke about the circumstances of the abuse practiced by a number of employees sent to work abroad when they dealt with the case of her daughter, who suffers from cancer.

The statement, published on the office’s Facebook page, added that the attorney general ordered investigations into the facts included in the complaint, to determine the responsibility for disposing of the value of the financial authorisation allocated for its treatment in Germany in violation of the legislation, and to interact with it quickly to urge the administration to investigate the legality of the case. its work, and enabling the patient to be treated at the expense of the community, in implementation of the dispatching decision issued in this regard.

The Chief Prosecutor in the Attorney General’s Office undertook the investigation procedures, which resulted, earlier, in proving the fact that the financial controller had abused the job authorities by deliberately refraining from receiving bills for the cost of treatment and spending the value of the authorization in other ways.

Thus; The Public Prosecution ordered that the accused be held in pretrial detention pending investigation. While the Minister of Health took over the implementation of the procedures for implementing the decision to send the patient for treatment in a hospital in Italy.
