Menfi arrive in Saudi Arabia for Middle East Green Initiative Summit
The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, has attended the Middle East Green Initiative Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which is aims combat climate change beyond its borders through collective action.
The Presidential Council said in a statement that Libya participated in the summit on Monday with the Minister of Environment Ibrahim Munir along with Menfi, in the presence of Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, in the presence of several world leaders.
“Our participation confirms Libya’s concern for the Saudi initiative that aims to lead for green economy to preserve nature and save it from global warming, especially in the Arab world, and particularly; in Libya.” The statement reads.
It added that the summit aims to preserve the safety of future generations and put in place a plan for measures that make economies green and achieve societal benefits, helping Libya and Arab countries shift from dependency on oil.
