Dabbashi: Jan Kubis is the worst UN envy to Libya
Libya's Former Delegate to the United Nations claimed that the current UN Envoy to Libya is the worst to ever hold the position
Libya’s previous representative to the United Nations (UN) and the Security Council Ibrahim Dabbashi, has taken to Twitter to call the current UN Envoy to Libya the “worst” to ever occupy the position, saying that he shattered his predecessor’s ambitions and ruined the possibility of conducting elections on time.
In a tweet, Dabbashi openly said, “Ján Kubi has proved that he is the worst Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya ever.”
He went on to say that the UNSMIL chief shattered Libyans’ dreams of holding the country’s forthcoming elections on December 24th, thus destroying the work of his predecessor, Stephanie Williams, who was the interim head of UNSMIL until a successor was found.
“By reopening the road map adopted by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), Kubi destroyed the accomplishment of his predecessor and the dream of Libyans to have elections on December 24th,” he explained.
Jan Kubis proved to be the worst ever UNSGSR to Libya. By reopening the road map adopted by the LPDF he destroyed the accomplishment of his predecessor Stephanie Williams and the dream of Libyans to have elections on 24 December.

The position of UN Special Envoy to Libya and head of UNSMIL remained vacant since Ghassan Salame stepped down in March 2020 due to health reasons.
Bulgarian diplomat Nikolay Mladenov was appointed, but he rejected the post due to personal reasons and complications with the position, leaving Acting Special Representative Stephanie Williams in charge until Kubis was successfully appointed in January.
