School suspensions extended due to deteriorating epidemiological situation
After consulting the NCDC, The GNU's Ministry of Education has declared to extend the suspension of education across the country
The Ministry of Education of the Government of National Unity (GNU) has declared another week of suspension, with the exception of municipalities from Sirte to Amsaad and municipalities in the southeast.
According to the Ministry’s Information Office, a meeting between the Minister of Education, Dr Musa Mohamed Al-Maqrif, the Chairman and members of the Ministry’s Scientific Advisory Committee, and the Director of the National Centre for Disease Control, Dr Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar, resulted in the education being suspended until August 12th, with certain exceptions.
The Tripoli session addressed the epidemiological condition across the country, especially in educational institutions.
At the meeting’s conclusion, it was agreed that, with the exception of the municipalities from Sirte to Amsaad and the municipalities in the south-east, education would be suspended for another week, in addition to emphasizing the need to improve the precautionary measures of schools and training in the Eastern Region and the importance of providing all p
Members of the meeting also decided to meet again next week to evaluate the epidemiological situation across the country and determine whether to reopen schools, perform exams, or continue to postpone.
