Ministry of Education: If the epidemiological situation worsens, schools will go back into lockdown
The Minister of Education confirms that while the Ministry aims to see the school year through, their top priority is keeping staff and students safe
The Minister emphasized that if the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Ministry, which is currently tracking and following the developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, recommends that education be suspended at all levels, the decision will be made immediately.
“The Ministry of Education prioritizes the safety of teachers and administrators, as well as our children, pupils, and students.” The Minister confirmed.
“We aim to create viable conditions for the completion of the school year at all levels,” he added, “while also committing ourselves to all measures to ensure the safety of our children and faculty.”
The Ministry’s Scientific Advisory Committee recommended that the study be halted for one week following Eid al-Adha due to growing concerns that the holy holiday would result in an increase in the number of cases.
The Minister stated that the committee’s recommendation will enable easier monitoring and tracking of any cases or outbreaks while students are out of school.
