The Geneva Centre for Political Studies anticipates that the December elections will be postponed

According to the study, postponing the December elections and extending the work of Libya’s Interim administration appears to be a lot more likely conclusion in Libya’s political path.

Despite the absence of such a suggestion from formal discussions, the document claimed that it was considered by both the Geneva talks and the Berlin 2 Libya conference.

The memo states that based on what has been accomplished in the last six months, holding elections in December appears to be extremely challenging. The highways between East and West remain closed, and Libyan institutions, particularly security and military organizations, remain fragmented.

According to the Geneva Centre for Political and International Studies, the postponement of elections for six months is currently the most likely outcome, and the extension of the work of the Government of National Unity is the only way to ensure the stabilization of the situation in Libya in its current form.

As it stands, despite continued efforts to improve matters by the Government of National Unity, Libya’s electricity issue has worsened, the country’s national budget has yet to be approved affecting the economical situation negatively and a majority of governmental institutions are yet to be united.
