6 months of humanitarian travel exemptions granted to Safia Farkash, Aisha & Mohamed Gaddafi
The Security Council's Special Committee has agreed to grant Gaddafi family members six months of humanitarian travel exemptions
The Security Council’s Special Committee on Humanitarian Travel awarded Safia Farkash, Aisha Muammar Gaddafi, and Mohamed Muammar Gaddafi a six-month travel exemption.
The Security Council stated in a statement that these three individuals would travel for humanitarian purposes between 1 June and 30 November 2021 and that they would be required to provide travel information to the Security Council Committee on the granting of the exemption prior to and within one month of travel under this exemption.
The Security Council emphasized that the Committee may consider extending or renewing the exemption if circumstances warrant, that any future resolution would consider the level of information provided and that any State allowing any of the three individuals to travel to or through its territory should notify the Committee within 48 hours of arrival or passage within 48 hours after arrival or passage within its territory.
