Libya & Algeria seek to activate mutually beneficial trade and economic agreements
GNU's Minister of Economy and Trade confirms during a meeting with the Algerian Finance Minister that the two countries will be working to grow and develop bilateral relations in terms of economy and trade
The Ministers reviewed efforts to boost bilateral trade and hasten the opening of the Ghadames-Debdeb border crossing point.
Additionally, they agreed to re-examine, review, and revise trade and economic accords, as well as to debate the conditions of the double taxation agreement, in conjunction with the Government of National Unity’s Ministry of Finance.
Additionally, the parties discussed the mechanism for establishing a commercial partnership between Libyan and Algerian economic actors, promoting the private sector’s role in both countries, enhancing commercial delegation visits, establishing specialized joint fairs, and setting up permanent channels of communication between officials and technical commissions to identify any developments and developments in the areas of economy and trade.
