German-Egyptian agreement on the critical nature of removing all foreign forces from Libya
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held a video conference this week to discuss latest development in Libya and the urgency of removing all foreign forces from the country
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel agreed on the critical nature of an orderly and secure withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign armed groups from Libyan land.
According to an Egyptian presidential spokeswoman, this occurred during a video chat with Sisi and Merkel this week.
The world leaders shared views on the present state of affairs in Libya; Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to assist Libya’s ongoing transition, with the goal of achieving the December electoral elections necessary to rebuild the State and its national institutions.
Al-Sisi and Merkel emphasized that the withdrawal of mercenaries from Libya will “ensure a peaceful and successful transition period and contribute to the Libyan people’s hopes for a better future.”
