WHO: More than 1 million tests conducted in Libya since the start of the pandemic
Libya has completed nearly 1 million Covid-19 tests since the outbreak began and has reported a constant decline in the number of infections and fatalities in recent weeks, according to the WHO
Libya, the World Health Organization (WHO) reports, has conducted more than a million tests for Covid-19 infections since the pandemic began until May 16.
According to the organization’s weekly report No. 20 on the epidemiological situation in Libya, there was an estimated 18 percent decrease in casualties compared to the previous week, with a fall of 16 percent in the western region, 37 percent in the eastern region, and 2% in the southern region.
WHO observed that the total number of new cases reported decreased by 21% compared to week 19, with a 25% decline in the West, a 2% increase in the East, and a 40% increase in the South, despite the fact that testing indicate a decrease in all three regions.
The organization stated that there was no lack of laboratory tests or reagents from any corona labs in Libya, noting that the number of deaths from corona virus-related complications decreased to 20% in the twentieth week of the epidemiological situation, compared to the preceding one.
