Tunisia lifts mandatory hotel quarantine for Libyan travelers
In another positive development for Libyan foreign affairs, Tunisia decides to lift the mandatory hotel stay upon arrival for Libyan travelers
Libya’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced this week that Tunisia will no longer require Libyan travelers to be quarantined in hotels as long as they adhere to Covid-19 protective measures.
The Civil Aviation Authority noted, however, that Libyan flights will now arrive in a separate section of airports, and Libyans will still be required to enter Tunisia with a negative PCR test, wear masks, and maintain social distance upon arrival.
Tunisia’s Prime Minister, Hichem Mechichi, arrived in Libya this week for a two-day official visit, accompanied by a high-level ministerial and business delegation, to mark the resumption of Tunisian Airlines flights to Tripoli after a seven-year hiatus.
During the visit, Abdelhamid Dabeiba, the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU) announced the signing of a multi-clause agreement between Libya and Tunisia to improve commerce and travel.
The visit included the opening of the Libyan-Tunisian Forum on the grounds of Tripoli’s International Exposition by the Libyan Prime Minister and his Tunisian counterpart.
The Prime Ministers took a tour of the gallery’s corridors, sharing products from a variety of industries, including construction, infrastructure, tourism, and food.
The exhibition’s ongoing events feature over 170 companies from a variety of sectors, as well as 1,200 entrepreneurs.
