Ahead of reopening its consulate in Benghazi, Malta sends a delegation to Libya
A delegation from Maltese pays a visit to Libya in preparation for the reopening of the Benghazi consulate
The group met with key figures in Benghazi, including the mayor, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, and the general body in charge of privatization and investment, according to the Times of Malta daily.
The delegation also paid a visit to Benghazi’s port, where they interacted with both the port management and the port authorities.
Maritime cooperation, the rebuilding of buildings and bridges that have fallen, technological advancements, and investments in waste separation and renewable energy were all addressed during the sessions.
While the battle had a major impact on Benghazi over the previous decade, Cutajar stated the residents have the necessary resolve to see the city rebuilt and its economic activities thrive.
