French Commandos partner with Khalifa Haftar in war on Benghazi
Special French Commando forces have recently arrived in Benghazi, Libya, to support and fight with Khalifa Haftar and his Dignity Operation (Karama) forces as well as to provide support for military operations in the city, Libyan security sources reported.
In an exclusive statement to the Huffington Post Arabi, the sources said that the French commandos are currently positioned in Benina Airbase, east of Benghazi, which is the most important military base for troops loyal to Haftar.
The sources did not report to the Huffington Post Arabi neither the number nor the size of the French forces, however, they explained that a joint operations room has been set up in order to coordinate between the France and Haftar’s forces under the command of Colonel Salim Al-Abdali.
