Violent calshes return to southern Tripoli frontlines
The spokesman for Burkan Al-Ghadab operation (Volcano of Rage) of the GNA Mustafa Al-Majaye told reporters that clashes were fierce in Khalit Al-Furjan, Kazirma, Tripoli International Airport, and others frontlines in southern Tripoli.
He also added that the Libyan Air Force had carried out airstrikes on positions of Khalifa Haftar’s forces in Souq Al-Khamis and around Tripoli International Airport.
Sources told local media that Haftar’s forces had also stepped up their response to the Sunday clashes by launching Grad rockets on Libyan Army forces under GNA’s command in Khalit Al-Furjan and other areas.
The same sources reported senior leaders from the Volcano of Rage operation as saying that Haftar’s Grad rockets fell on civilian houses, killing a woman and her daughter in Khalit Al-Furjan.
Over 1000 people have been killed and over 5000 others have been injured since April 04, when Haftar launched his offensive on Tripoli to take power by fighting the UN-backed GNA forces.
