A foreign air strike late on Tuesday killed four terror suspects on the outskirts of the Libyan city of Bani Walid, some 180 km southwest of the capital Tripoli.

“An unidentified foreign air strike killed four terrorists suspected of belonging to Islamic State (IS), targeting one of their headquarters in Bgila area in the valley of Kamkum on the outskirts of Bani Walid,” official sources in the joint security chamber of Bani Walid said.

The air strike is said to have been likely carried out by a U.S. drone aircraft, as the Libyan air force is unable to carry out a precise air strike in valleys.

Local sources also said that a security patrol moved to the scene with an ambulance, and a number of bodies that were left after the air strike have been recovered and sent to Bani Walid general hospital.
