Libyan Prime Minister and Al-Azhar Mosque Imam agree on awarding 100 scholarships to Libyan students
The head of of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Faiz Al-Sarraj, visited the sheikh of Al-Azhar and was received by Imam Sheikh of Al-Azhar Mosque, Ahmed Al-Tayeb during his official visit to Egypt.
The two sides agreed on the need to spread religious discourse, which establishes the values of tolerance, pardon and love, and stressed the importance of the relations between Libya and Egypt and their historical, social and cultural ties.
In addition to that, the imam accepted the head of the GNA’s request to “award 100 scholarships to Libyan students at Al-Azhar University,” according to a statement by the Media office of GNA.
They also stressed the rejection of any individual resolutions concerning Al-Quds (Jerusalem), noting “the need to intensify political, diplomatic and legal efforts in this regard,” according to the statement.
