Clashes in Libya’s Sabratha cease after killing of civilians
After a bombshell fell on a car of a civilian family leading to the death of the husband and the injury of the wife – some reports say she died, the clashes in Sabratha came to a devised ceasefire by the efforts of neighboring cities.
After six days of deadly clashes between Fighting IS Operations Room and Brigade 48 from the city, the Sabratha local council said that both agreed on a truce and clashes ended late on Friday.
The ceasefire came after the efforts exerted by Al-Zawiya, Zuwara, Regdaline, Zintan, Misurata and other neighboring districts’ efforts.
According to the city’s officials, five people including civilians were killed and over 20 were injured in the clashes that started last Sunday over the killing of one Fighting IS Operations Room fighter as he did not stop his car at a checkpoint for the Brigade 48 in the city.
