Misrata MP “Al-Reaid” set free in Tobruk

After four days as hostage of a family in Tobruk, the eastern Libyan town where the country’s Parliament is based, MP Mohammed Al-Reaid was released Saturday afternoon

Mohammed Al-Reaid, a member in Libya’s parliament in Tobruk was released Saturday by some local elders and representatives from Tobruk city.

Al-Reaid was kidnapped, on Wednesday by an armed group demanding releasing their relatives from Misurata prison in exchange of his release, however, their demand was refused with the help of Tobruk elders.

MP Al-Reaid had sworn in back to the parliament after boycotting it for 18 months.

Mohamed Al-Reaid is the CEO of Al Naseem for Food Industries, Libya’s prime local dairy producer.
