Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi: Italy looks to Libya with a fascist eye
The son of the late Libyan dictator, Muamar Gaddaif, Saif Al-Islam, has stated that the Italian policy toward Libya is based on the colonisation and fascist strategy of the past.
Saif Gaddafi, according to a report by Libya 24 TV on Thursday, was cited by a close source as saying that Italy wants to regain colonisation of Libya as it used to consider Libya’s Tripoli beaches as a colony for Rome.
The source also was reported by Libya 24 TV as saying that Saif Gaddafi indicated that Italians ruined the mutual relations with Libya as neighbours after they had allowed NATO aircraft to bomb Libyan soil and cities from their airbases.
“Here are the Italians repeating the NATO scenario by provoking the Libyan’s sentiments and love toward their soil in sending warships to infringe on Libya’s sovereignty due to the irresponsible conduct of some Libyan officials.” Saif Gaddafi was quoted as saying by a source reporting to Libya 24 TV.
It is worth mentioning that Saif Gaddafi had been freed from his detention in Zintan city in western Libya and his whereabouts are not known yet, with some reports that he is now living in Bayda city in eastern Libya.
