Italy: All our Tripoli embassy personnel are safe
The Italian Foreign Ministry confirmed that nobody from the diplomats and staffers of the embassy in Tripoli was hurt in the car bombing that took place on Saturday night close to the embassy building.
The Italian Foreign Ministry praised the Libyan security of the diplomatic missions for their valor and said they secured the embassy and the house of the ambassador Giuseppe Perrone.
Italian Foreign Ministry and embassy personnel will be working with the Libyan authorities to get more details about the explosion, the Italian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
The car bomb blasted on Saturday near the Italian embassy and the Planning Ministry in Dahra area in Tripoli. The driver seemed to have blown himself up together with another person in the car.
