Libyan forces declare Sirte fully liberated from IS militants
The forces of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous announced earlier on Tuesday the liberation of the last hideouts of IS in Sirte’s Jizah neighbourhood and therefore the full liberation of the city after violent clashes with the militants.
No official report about the liberation yet, but fighters from the fight scene told the press that the city fell all to the grip of the Misurat-led forces of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous.
On Tuesday clashes, they added, many fighters were injured and two died while a number of IS militants surrendered as the Libyan forces edged through the last buildings in Jizah neigbourhood.
