NOC Chairman says Libya’s oil industry keeps soaring
The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah, said Tuesday that Libya’s oil output has hit 600,000 barrels per day (bpd), stressing that the country’s economy has healed a lot over the last few months.
“We will keep on working on restoring a line of production that sees Libya putting out 900,000 bpd by the end of 2016 and over 1.1 million bpd at the beginning of 2017.
“but the NOC should be spared in all of the ongoing political and military conflicts as it is and must remain Libya’s biggest fortune and plays the most essential role for the continuity of the daily lives of all Libyans.” Sanallah added.
He indicated that any more military fights and clashes at the oil facilities will damage the infrastructure even more and will consequently lead to the halt of oil production.
