Libyan Red Crescent denies being attacked in Azzawiay clashes

The spokesperson of the Libyan Red Crescent (LRC), Muhammed Al-Musrati, refuted the news that said the headquarters of the LRC in Azzawiya was destroyed during the four-day clashes in the city.

Al-Musrati called Tuesday on all of the warring parties in Azzawiya to allow the LRC volunteers to work safely and help those who are in need for assistance without hindrance and obstacles.

He also said that despite difficulties in reaching the warring parties and getting guarantees from them, the LRC volunteers managed to get 150 families out from the different clashes zones in the city of Azzawiya over the last three days before the warring parties had come to terms on Monday evening.

The LRC posted on Facebook a plea for all sides of conflict in Azzawiya and elsewhere to respect the badge of the Libyan Red Crescent and allow its volunteers to do their humanitarian jobs.
